Member Engagement
Support

When You Confuse, You Lose.

If you ask members what the value of their membership is, what would they say?

If they say 'yes', then high five to you!

If they're not sure, then it's a clarity problem.

Enter...Increased Member Engagement.

Clarity is your survival kit and engaging both members and non-members will always be the simplest way to make your purpose clear as glass.

Here's my two-part question:

1/Are you engaging members enough for them to see why your Chamber matters?

2/ If not, would you like to talk to someone with experience in overcoming that pain-point?

I'm that person. I know how much of your work happens behind the scenes, quiet and invisible. But here’s the one constant:

The less people see you, the more confused they are about what you do.

Confuse them and you lose them.

5 to 20 Touchpoints

Member retention depends on engagement.

End of story. Bottom line. No shortcuts.

Having been rightfully been dubbed 'The Idea Person', I'd love to help you plan diverse strategies with measurable results such as:

  • Higher member retention

  • Better event attendance

  • Improved benefits usage

  • Increased member feedback

  • New member sign-ups and more

Research shows that people need anywhere between 5-20 touch points before they fully remember what you offer, and in my Chamber network experience, I agree.

They need to be prompted to continually

re-discover what you do.

This isn't about leaning heavily into AI.

I'm talking about the personal touch of

feel-good engagement that's in-person as much as possible and when digital, doing it smart.

Would you like to brainstorm engagement ideas that can un-confuse members?

All you need to do is ask!

Despite engagement being a challenge,
58% of associations do not have a written
plan for increasing member engagement.

(GrowthZone 2025 Survey)
"During her time as our Executive Director, Tara’s leadership allowed our organization to grow from representing just one community to seven. In addition, she coordinated a regional agriculture strategic plan
(including the launch of a food hub), helped launch two community
groups; developed a local shopping website; acted as our government liaison and much more.

Tara managed this as the Chamber’s only staff member and it’s obvious she's passionate about the economic development work that Chamber of Commerce's offer."
